My Roll at MYA: As assistant to the PM, tasks included regular site visits and collaborations leading to the highly detailed drawings of the fireplaces, antique brick, and period leather paneling. Coordination with Paris Interior Designer, restoration shops, art handlers, and installation contractors ensured a unified design. Since street level iron fences and gates were not present at the start of design work, we needed to demonstrate to the New York City historic preservation entities that these metal pieces would bring the property back closer to its original state. Hundred-year-old photos were found in archives and fastener details were reconstruction based on comparison of similar historic ironwork in this neighborhood and other turn-of-the-century homes in the five boroughs.
